Unable to sync Zotero Desktop (Version 8.0.4) – "Invalid username or password" despite correct crede

I am having trouble syncing Zotero Desktop on Windows.
**System information**
* Zotero version: 8.0.4
* Operating system: Windows
* Sync account: Personal Zotero account
**Problem**
When I try to set up syncing in Zotero Desktop, I receive the message:
> "Invalid username or password"
However, I can successfully log in to Zotero.org using the exact same credentials.
**What I have already tried**
* Logging in with my Zotero username.
* Logging in with my email address.
* Resetting my password and using the new password.
* Manually typing the username and password (not copy/pasting).
* Restarting Zotero.
* Restarting my computer.
* Confirming that I can log in to Zotero.org through a web browser.
**Background**
I am trying to sync my Zotero library so that I can use references stored in my Zotero web library within Google Docs. The references are visible on Zotero.org, but I cannot sync them to Zotero Desktop because the login fails.
Has anyone experienced this issue before, or are there additional troubleshooting steps I should try?

dstillman Zotero TeamUpgrade to the latest version of Zotero. For security reasons, older versions are no longer able to log in for syncing, except immediately after a successful password reset.
