Upgrade StorageZotero keeps crashing whenever I annotate pdfs within the app.

I am using the latest fully-updated version of Zotero.
When I annotate pdfs within the Zotero app, specifically when I type note annotations, the app frequently freezes and stops responding and I have to close and restart the program.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Zotero
2. Open a pdf from my library
3. Click on the 'Note Annotation' icon to insert a note on the pdf
4. Type a caption to the note in the left-hand side-bar
Mid-way through typing Zotero freezes and displays the message 'Zotero is not responding. If you close the program you might lose information.'
I have tried restarting my computer but this has not solved the problem.
