Zotero can't properly write to its data directory. Usually this is due to security software on the system. If this is an institutional computer, you'll need to talk to your IT department.
  • Thanks for the feedback, but how can I solve this issue? I've never had issues with any security software and its my personal computer.
  • Are you running third-party security software?
  • I have Microsoft Defender Antivirus and Windows Firewall activated.
The Zotero synchronization worked up until a few days ago.

Can you provide a Debug ID for Zotero startup through reproducing this, using the Help → Debug Output Logging → "Restart with Logging Enabled…" option?
  • Yes, I have.

That's not a Debug ID from Zotero startup.

Are you opening PDFs outside of Zotero or in the built-in PDF reader? You could get this error if you have a PDF (or even Explorer window) open outside of Zotero.

You should restart your computer, if you haven't yet.

You're just not actually doing what I said above — using "Restart with Logging Enabled…" — but you should see my previous message.
  • I did what you said again. D1039928363
And I also restarted my comupter.

You didn't answer my other question.

It's failing trying to delete the C:\Users\[…]\Zotero\storage\GN3XX9DA folder in order to apply a remotely changed file. So either you have something from that folder (e.g., a PDF) open outside of Zotero or your security software is preventing Zotero from being deleted. You can look in the folder, see what's there, and try deleting the folder manually. But this is some problem outside of Zotero. Something on the system is preventing Zotero from deleting that folder, which it needs to do to complete the sync, because that file changed remotely.
  • I've deleted the folder now manually. It was empty. And I don't have any PDFs open.
  • I don't see the error message anymore. But the zotero bibliography in word won't update.

That would be unrelated. You should start a new thread for that and provide more details.
