Bug report: open dialog save file after each drag and drop or add files (version 9.0.4)

When adding a reference by drag&drop files or downloading from the web, in version 9.0.4 (64-bit) always opens an unnecessary pop-up menu

(this is new in this version upgrade, never happens before)

The retrieve metadata window was added way back (version 5 or so?) whenever you add a PDF, so I'm not quite sure what you're referring to -- could you say a bit more what exactly you are doing and when the window pops up? It could also just be that you never closed the window -- a failed metadata retrieval stays up so you can check it -- and you're seeing the exact same window come to the front every time.

It just appears each time (either) I:
a) drag and drop a file in a Zotero collection
b) Use Zotero MS Edge plugin and "download" a reference WITH a file as a PDF annex

It just does not happen ever before (with 6, 7, 8 or any previous versions of Zotero 9, before the last upgrade to 9.0.4)

This happens every time I shut down my computer (no open windows, no hibernation issue, or similar). I shut down my computer, and the next time I shut it on, it happens again. Several days happened befoere open this issue.

And does the pop-up reference the file that you're adding or a different file?
Can you reproduce this in troubleshooting mode?

(Sorry, the dialog shouldn't come up if you're just adding files, and doesn't for me)

@jamarin: Restart in Troubleshooting Mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”), which temporarily disables all plugins. If that fixes it, you'll need to identify the plugin that's causing it and then report the problem to the plugin's developer.
