Feature Request: Persistent Annotation Colors and Keyboard Shortcuts in Zotero PDF Reader
Thank you for developing and maintaining Zotero. I use the built-in PDF reader extensively for academic reading and annotation, and I would like to suggest a few workflow improvements that could significantly improve usability for power users.
1. Persistent Default Annotation Colors
Currently, the PDF reader resets annotation colors (for example, highlight, underline, and pen colors etc.) back to the default yellow in many situations, such as opening another PDF or restarting Zotero. It would be very helpful if Zotero could remember the last-used color for each annotation tool individually.
2. Individual Keyboard Shortcuts for Annotation Tools (highlight, underline, and pen colors etc.) Customizable shortcuts would make the PDF reader much faster for intensive academic annotation workflows.
I believe these features would substantially improve the Zotero reading experience, especially for researchers and students who annotate large numbers of papers daily.
Thank you again for your work on Zotero and for considering these suggestions.
