Institutional email disabled

I have retired from my university and no longer have an active email account at that institution. I would like simply to change the email associated with my Zotero username. I have been advised that all I need to do is set up a new Zotero account and sync to that one. But when I "switch account" to sync data I am warned that all local data will be deleted. I want all that data. I can't change my email because the 2-factor code is sent to my old email that I no longer have access to. Any suggestions?
