New plugin: sumno-zotero — read-only sync from sumno academic search assistant
Hi all,
I'm releasing **sumno-zotero**, a small open-source plugin for Zotero 7+ that creates Zotero items from a personal library kept on [sumno](https://sumno.com.br), an academic search assistant focused on Brazilian graduate students (PT-BR coverage, ABNT references, OpenAlex-backed metadata).
The plugin is **read-only** (sumno → Zotero, one direction). It's meant for researchers who already use Zotero as their reference manager and want their sumno library to appear alongside their other collections without copy-pasting BibTeX.
**Flow:**
1. Generate a personal access token in `sumno.com.br/conta/tokens`.
2. Paste the token in **Tools → Sumno → Configure** in Zotero.
3. **Tools → Sumno → Sync library** — papers appear in a "Sumno" collection with title, creators, year, DOI, abstract, OA URL, and `openalex_id` in the Extra field.
**Out of scope in v0.1.x:** bidirectional sync, notes/tags/annotations, Zotero 6 support, background sync. The roadmap will follow real user feedback — SciELO direct indexing is on the shortlist.
**Links:**
- Source + .xpi release: https://github.com/sumno-app/sumno-zotero
- License: MIT
- Issues / feedback: GitHub issues (best-effort response — I maintain this alone)
- PT-BR walkthrough: https://www.sumno.com.br/blog/conectando-sumno-ao-zotero
**Why I'm posting here:** sumno is a Brazilian product, but its API and this plugin are language-neutral. Anyone using OpenAlex through sumno can use the plugin. I wanted to put it in front of the Zotero community before broader announcement.
Happy to answer questions about the integration architecture, security model, or what's planned next.
