Upgrade StorageFeature request: Specify related types
It would be lovely if there was a way to specify how items are related in Zotero (such as "chapter_of", "review_of", "parent_collection_of" etc.). For instance, creating a book section from a book establishes a related link, but it doesn't tell me which is the parent (collection) and which is the child (chapter).

I believe if there was an option to specify how things are related it would solve a lot of the other issues discussed, or at least open the door, e.g., in the related section one could then think of having a subsection with "all chapters of" and separately "all reviews of" and so on.

I suspect that the main use of Related is to link to references cited by the current paper (and already in one's library); which means that those related references in turn effectively inherit a "cited by" relation under their own Related tab.
Related would be made much cleaner by separating out those two categories of cited references and cited-by relations into their own tabs. Some plugins - Ethereal Reference and Cita - already go some way towards that.
That would leave a new option to label remaining relation types much simpler/cleaner (ideally according to user preference, as there are so many possible types). In addition to the categories you mention, other relations include other work by the same authors, journal papers that follow from an earlier conference paper or preprint, journal papers that follow from a thesis, or just other work relevant to the current paper, etc.
