Zotero Connector not connecting (potentially wrong URL?)

I just recently re-downloaded Zotero and the connector on Ubuntu 24.04 and Firefox 136.0, and am unable to connect. I tried the URL (http://127.0.0.1:23119/connector/ping), which did not work, and when I ran Zotero in debug it printed:

HTTP server listening on 127.0.0.1:23124
```
When I entered this new URL (http://127.0.0.1:23124/connector/ping) it showed "Zotero is running".

I've tried turning off all other browser extensions, and installing the extension on Chromium (where I have no extensions), and nothing works. Because the Zotero desktop app is listening on a different URL than what is listed in the Troubleshooting guide, I wonder whether the extension is sending to the wrong URL (the one listed in the Troubleshooting guide).

Any help debugging is appreciated, because I have reached the end of the troubleshooting guide.

    You changed the port Zotero is listening on. Go to the Config Editor in the Advanced pane of the Zotero settings and reset extensions.zotero.httpServer.port.
