Slow to assign item to collection, then strange right-click menu

I tried to assign an item to a collection, and it didnt work, and I closed the item view to right click the item in the collection to try reassigning again, and the right click menu didnt open, so I right-clicked a couple more times and got this:

Can you elaborate on what exactly didn't work? Did the collections menu not appear when you hovered over "Add to Collection"? Or was it something else?

I clicked the + button inside the item view, then clicked a collection, but the item was not assigned to that collection. I tried again. It didn't work. I closed the item view, and right clicked the item in the collection view to try to assign it to a collection again, and the right click menu didn't work. So I clicked a number of times, then the menu finally appeared, as shown in the screenshot.

Did it happen just once or does it occur regularly? Can you reproduce it in troubleshooting mode (Help → "Restart in Troubleshooting Mode…”)?

I have definitely encountered the failure to assign the collection properly in the item viewer a number of times. It either takes a long time to work, or doesn't work and I just have to keep reassigning it.

The other error with the right click menu was the first time, but that's the first time I got so frustrated with waiting for it to assign the item to the collection that I actually closed the item view and switched to the collection view to try and fix the problem.

I'll see if I catch it again in troubleshoot mode and I'll get back to you.
