sync issues

I can't sync to my zotero online account from my desktop computer (error is "SSL certificate error connecting to sync.zotero.org"), but I am able to sync from my laptop.
My desktop runs Windows XP professional 2002 SP3 running firefox 3.6.3
My laptop runs Windows 7 Professional running firefox 3.5.9

Please help!
