[Solved] How to remove sync'ed attachments from server but not from library
I have been using Zotero for years. For some reason, attachment synchronization (which I've never been using) turned on on its own. I didn't realize but saw that my quota was full. I presumed it was simply the database taking up more than 300MB of space and upgraded my storage. Surely enough, a few minutes later I ran out of space again.
Only a very tiny portion of my Zotero attachments are sync'ed to the server. That is of no use to me and I would like to remove them again to free up space. How can I do that without losing my attachments in my local library?

dstillman Zotero Teamedited 12 days agoFree up space for what? Data syncing isn't affected by your storage usage.

tlugeSorry that I didn't explain properly. I would like to free up space to not have to pay for attachment syncing again next year around. Partial sync isn't of any use to me.

dstillman Zotero TeamIf you don't need to sync attachments, you don't need to pay. Just disable file syncing in the settings to stop getting a quota error.

dstillman Zotero Team(You can use use "Purge Storage in My Library" from your storage settings page to unlink the attachments online, but that has no bearing on whether you pay for a subscription.)

tlugeThat's way easier than I thought! Thank you for letting me know! :)
