Browser connector stopped working after upgrading to Zotero 9 and downgrading back to 7

Hi everyone,

Today I upgraded Zotero to version 9, but then I found that many of my plugins were incompatible, so I downgraded back to Zotero 7.

After downgrading, I noticed that the browser connector no longer worked. I first deleted Zotero from the Applications folder and reinstalled it, but the problem was still there.

Later, I deleted the entire Zotero application and also removed the Zotero folder under my user directory. After reinstalling Zotero again, the browser connector/plugin finally appeared and started working again.

Could this have been caused by some Zotero 9 configuration, plugin state, cache, or profile data remaining in the user directory after downgrading to Zotero 7? Is this expected behavior when downgrading from Zotero 9 to Zotero 7?
