Pages Plugin Using Apple Script (Example: CiteInPages)
Dear Zotero Administrators,
I read through the discussion regarding Zotero support with Apple pages and was sad to see that the thread had been closed (http://forums.zotero.org/discussion/639/support-for-citations-in-apple-pagesapp/). While I don't have a lot of time to pursue a Zotero/Pages plugin in the moment, I wanted to point out that others have found ways around the limitations using Apple Script and it might worthwhile to look at a Zotero/Pages plugin again.
As an example, you might look at CiteInPages, which lets you construct bibliographies from BibDesk (see http://jhh.med.virginia.edu/main/CiteInPages). I've been testing it for a book on writing with open source tools and it works quite well. It is limited, however, by the number of styles available (which isn't an issue for Zotero).
It might be possible to pursue a similar approach. (And a quick perusal of the CiteInPages source code seems to indicate that a lot of it might be reused.) It's also likely that the CiteInPages AppleScript could be translated to Python and a plugin similar to BibDeskToWord might be developed (http://warp.byu.edu/BibDeskToWord/).
These are just some thoughts I had. Given that others have already figured out the interface, it might be a good time to reconsider creating a Zotero plugin for Pages.
Cheers,
Rob Oakes

While Pages does contain an API for citation and bibliography functionality, Apple has unfortunately elected to share it only with Thomson Reuters. Unless Apple decides to make this API publicly available, we don't plan to create a Pages plug-in any time soon.
