Citation error

I recently updated Firefox and had to reinstall Zotero, since then i have an error. From time to time, when i try to insert a citation in my text, it doesn't use the {citation} field but alters an existing citation elsewhere. This is realy annoying because if i don't recognize it instantly, one citation is wrong and another isn't set. The only solutions thus far is to restart Open Office, but the error always comes back.
I use Ubuntu 9.04, Firefox 3.6.4 and Zotero 2.0.3 with OO integration 3.0a8 and OO 3.0.1.

Thanks for solutions, regards
Nils
  • Are you sure this resolves itself if you restart OpenOffice.org, but not if you restart Firefox? If this is the case, then what you're seeing is probably a bug in OpenOffice.org. You might want to try updating your OpenOffice.org installation. If the bug continues to occur, and you can provide us a copy of your document along with a set of steps to reliably reproduce the problem, we can either work around the bug or create a test case and forward it on to the relevant people at OpenOffice.org.
  • First, thanks for your reply.

I dug a little deeper into this problem and made some tests.
If i write normal Text, everything works fine, BUT in this particular chapter, I use tables in order to organize my content, and this is what causes the error. When i try to comment my table content, the error, as I descriped him, occures. I dont know if this is a OO or a Zotero issue. It's easily to reconstruct, take a new Document, write something and enter citations. Then put an table into it, fill the cell and comment this cell-content with citations, if it's not my systems fault, you should see the error.
  • This is a known limitation - Zotero cannot insert citations in tables in Ooo -

  • Oh, ok thanks.
I have not seen this thread. I simply avoid tables by now. But this feature would be highly appreciated for upcoming zotero versions.
