New citation style. International Endodontic Journal

Hi,

I am searching for a modified Harvard style used by the International Endodontic Journal. The citation format is as follows (from Endonote):

http://www.endnote.com/support/enstyledetail.asp?SORT=2&PAGE=1&METH=0&DISC=none&JOUR=endod&BSRT=none&FF1=none&FF2=none&FF3=none&CITE=none&DKEY=642010505035AA

and the IEJ lists the following as it's requirements as below:

Hopefully someone out there can help.

Patrick

In the text: single or double authors should be acknowledged together with the year of publication, e.g. (Pitt Ford & Roberts 1990). If more than two authors the first author followed by et al. is sufficient, e.g. (Tobias et al. 1991).

Reference list: All references should be brought together at the end of the paper in alphabetical order and should be in the following form.

(i) Names and initials of up to six authors. When there are seven or more, list the first three and add et al.
(ii)Year of publication in parentheses
(iii) Full title of paper followed by a full stop (.)
(iv) Title of journal in full (in italics)
(v) Volume number (bold) followed by a comma (,)
(vi) First and last pages

  • not my previous post - find a similar style in Zotero and list the differences.
    The Endnote style doesn't help.
  • Adamsmith,

Thanks for your comments. I believe that Harvard reference format 1 is the closest to the IEJ's citation style. I have noted the following changes.

    1. All dates are in Parenthesis with no comma before or full stop after it
    2. There is no conjunctive between authors names, just a comma and no full stop after them.
    3. In the bibliography, all authors names are listed.

    Journal Article:
There is no full stop/ period after the initials of the author, just a comma. The volume number is in BOLD with no issue number. The page numbers are listed as pp. then the first and last page of the article.

    Personal Author:
There is no conjunctive between authors names, just a comma.

I think that that is the key changes. For reference if I have not been clear, are the details from the IEJ.

    Hope that helps

    Patrick
