Upgrade StorageAnnotations in WebDAV are not syncing to Zotero.

I synchronized all my Zotero PDFs to WebDAV. I then downloaded a PDF with another app, added annotations (annotations embedded in the PDF), and uploaded it to replace the original PDF at the same location. After Zotero synced, I right-clicked the PDF and opened the local file — the annotated PDF had been synced to the local folder. However, when I open the item in Zotero, it still shows the original, unannotated version.
Could you tell me how Zotero detects PDF updates? How should I resolve this issue?

If you open a PDF in 'storage' in an external app and save back to the original file, you've modified the file, and you'll see the changes when you reopen the file in Zotero, unless it's some obscure annotation type that Zotero doesn't display.
Zotero will also detect the modified local file and upload it on the next file sync, but that doesn't have anything to do with what you see locally in Zotero.
