External pdf reader on iPad

Are thoughts about adding the ability for the iPad OS app to open PDFs in an external app for markup and editing? Would like to be able to use the features of external apps (e.g., OCR, easier Pencil markup, etc.). I love the PDF reader in the Zotero mobile apps and use it all the time, but there are some case when it would be helpful to open the PDF in an external editor on the iPad.
