Last Zotero version compatible with iOS build 304?

Hi, I'm currently using Zotero both on Mac and my iPad, but the latest iOS app version I'm able to download is 1.0.45 build 304, the last one available for iOS 15. It works fine, but some of my items and data are not syncing, with the error "It may have been saved with a newer version of Zotero". It makes sense since I have the latest version for desktop.

TL;DR what are the Zotero desktop version that are compatible with the iOS app version 1.0.45 build 304?

I'm willing to downgrade my desktop app so that data syncs correctly between the two, but I tried with Zotero 7 instead of 8 and it didn't work.

Just to be clear, the only iPads that ran iOS 15 and can't be updated to iOS 16 are the iPad Air 2 from 2014 and the iPad mini 4 from 2015. Unless you're running one of those, you can upgrade.

A database used by current versions of Zotero 7 or 8 already contains new fields that wouldn't be compatible with that iOS version, and the online library contains those new fields now as well.

Your only option would be to downgrade to 7.0.30, restore from a DB backup from that time, do a Replace Online Library, and then never upgrade (or receive support here) again. And various additional things (e.g., site translators) will stop working as time goes on. It's not really an option if you're relying on Zotero.

I have an iPad mini 4, so no upgrades from here.

Is there a list of the fields that are not compatible with the iOS version? Some of the data syncs, so if I can make sure all the entries are able to sync that also solves my problem and that way I can keep using the latest versions on other devices.

No, because translators will now save to the new fields instead of saving to Extra, so you'll get errors as soon as you save new items.

Okay, downgraded to 7.0.30 and some of the issues have been resolved. I guess I'll just carry on like this until it no longer works. Thank you.
