Should I migrate from using Extra to Original Date?
What are the use cases for moving from original-date: YYYY in the Extra field to using the new Original Date field?
BetterBibtex seems to play nicely with either when auto-generating citation keys that preferentially use the original publication year, so that doesn't seem like a reason to make the change.
It would be very nice to have the Filename Template use the original publication year, if possible, though I can't seem to figure out the syntax to do that using either Original Date or Extra. Is it possible?
I haven't yet tried using it for citations in a paper. I tend to use APA.
And are there other things I should be considering for using Original Date instead of the old method?
Thank you!

I am still curious if there's a way to set up Filename Template to preferentially use the original date. This is not high stakes, but it would be a nice refinement.
