When reading literature, an exclamation mark appears in the upper right corner, but Zotero is functioning normally. Today, when the computer was turned on, Zotero closed and exited by itself. I reopened it, and it was because of an automatic update of the plugin. Then, when reading, the exclamation mark appeared, showing this message: "Request timed out after 30000 ms", as shown in the picture. It is not clear whether this issue falls under:

  • That looks like the Reference plugin is trying to contact Google Scholar to retrieve the abstract ('Abstract is loading ...' in the bottom left), for the paper's cited reference you have in the plugin's right pane (the first time it does that you just have to close the Google Scholar window that it opens - it's like a captcha). It's timing out possibly because your internet connection is down or Google Scholar is being blocked. If the problem persists you should report it to the plugin developer at github.
