Sync'ing =>Unchecking Sync full-text content

Zotero doesn’t have a one-click “remove all PDFs from Web Library” button. I'd like to remove only synced PDFs.

Is there a way to automatically remove PDFs from the Web Library in bulk? I was hoping that Unchecking Sync full-text content would remove those PDFs already uploaded, but it does not.
  • Can you say what you are trying to do and why? Likely possible, but the answer will depend on the exact details
  • I just remove attachments in bulk from my web library without having to remove from the desktop application.
  • Right, but what exactly are you trying to achieve -- e.g. with a standard set up they'll just resync again.
    You can use "Purge Storage" on https://www.zotero.org/settings/storage but you absolutely want to understand exactly what you're doing before using it; otherwise it'll at best be a hassle, at worse lose you files.
  • I want to keep my PDFs on the desktop. Only remove them from my online library.
  • This isn't helpful, sorry. Please take the time two write three or four sentences about what you're trying to do _and why_ (yes, motivation matters for the right solution) and I'm happy to talk you through the options.
  • A student, so they do not have to purchase more storage for their online Web Library, would like to remove all the PDFs from all items in the Web Library, but retain PDFs in their desktop application.
  • They can just disable file sync in the prefs. If they really want to, they can then also use purge storage, but no real reason to
  • Disabling file sync only prevents future files from being sync'd, correct?
    And purge storage removes files from the desktop application, but they want to preserve those.
  • Right on file sync but why is that a problem?

    And no, purge storage specifically empties online storage, not local.files
  • Oh, thank you and sorry for not reading your responses more carefully.
