Bug Report - Zotero Connector Cannot Import RIS

Hey there!

I came to report a bug using Zotero Connector 5.0.195 with Google Chrome Version 145.0.7632.117 (Official Build) (x86_64) [all current]

The Errors pane shows:

  • a) you should just put an error report ID here, not link to the output on some cloud service
    b) We'd need to see the actual RIS here -- good chance it's simply broken RIS, Ovid has terrible metadata.
  • Ha! Figures I'd send you the stuff that doesn't matter.

    I at least did record the Report Number: 617909705

    TBH if there was a way to download the actual RIS I wouldn't have reported the bug, I'd just import it. The URL for this paper is https://www.ovid.com/jnls/acsm-msse/abstract/00005768-200002000-00011~cytokine-hypothesis-of-overtraining-a-physiological

  • @adamsmith, I wanted to let you know that I believe you're right in your hypothesis about malformed metadata from ovid.com. I've used the Connector since without issue and worked around this problem. I _have_, however, been sending a whole bunch of crash reports to Apple from Zotero freezing and having to force quit. :X I think I am just due a new MBP, it's been struggling to keep up lately.
