using zotero with amazon

Just started working with zotero and was able to add five books to zotero from amazon. Then started a collection and now when I try to add other books from amazon I get an error message: Could not save item. An error has occurred. See known translator issues. The info there wasn't particularly helpful. Also zotero seems to be working when I visit my library's website, just not amazon.
Anyway have experience dealing with this issue?
Thanks!

    Are you trying to add Kindle editions? Amazon doesn't (or didn't at last check) provide the necessary metadata for those.

    If not, provide sample URLs. The Amazon translator almost never breaks.
  • Thanks Dan for responding. I am not trying to select kindle editions, I have just pulled up a title that I want and have clicked on the blue Zotero icon where I enter the web address. It seems to be working with other sites and was working on amazon for a while...
    As far as providing sample URLs, where do I enter that on my Zotero Itunes-like interface?
    Thanks again for your help!
  • provide the URLs that you are trying to save that don't work on this forum thread so we can confirm the problem and know where to look to fix it.
  • Was just able to save one but this one didn't work:
    http://www.amazon.com/Approaches-Cambridge-Studies-International-Relations/dp/0521466512/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1276101391&sr=1-1
    Strange. Thanks for your help!
  • that url works for me. Make sure you have everything up to date: see first 5 steps of http://www.zotero.org/support/troubleshooting_translator_issues
  • Thanks for checking out the url. Unfortunately even after following those steps I still get an error from amazon. Oddly enough, zotero is working with some books on amazon and not others.... hmm...
  • Ok I think it was an issue of the copy I was saving from amazon. Thanks for your help!
