My Zotero connector is not functioning in chrome browser in windows

Previously, I have used the zotero connector extension for chrome many times and it worked perfectly, saving the link, and paper in the library. But after some days the extension connector disappeared from the bar, I enabled it again and it appeared in the bar. I tried to use it but on clicking it, nothing is saved in zotero library and no pop-up message shown..
what can be the reason? does anyone experience this?
