Export multiple refs into individual files

We have a use case in which researchers need to export multiple references from a Zotero group into their own individual files containing the metadata + abstracts. I know that it is possible to export one ref at a time so that each ref ends up in an individual file, but we are dealing with MANY refs and doing that process one at a time is not feasible. I also know that there is a way to export multiple refs into a single file that contains the metadata+abstracts for the multiple refs...but is there a way to export multiple refs into individual files? Hope that makes sense! Thanks for any help!

Not out of the box in Zotero, but if you use a simple format like RIS, it'd be trivial to write a script (bash, python, R, even javascript if you want) that takes the large single files and converts it into a set of individual files.
