Zotero not working on laptop

Hi
I have Zotero loaded on my laptop. The icon on my taskbar appears live, but it does not react when clicked. Thus, I can do nothing with the Zotero that is loaded on my computer.

I can add new items to my web library from Chrome and Firefox, but I am unable to attach files to items in the web library. There does not seem to be an icon for attaching files.

I'd be grateful if someone would help me, using layperson's language. I don't really understand computers much!

    What OS? Have you tried uninstalling Zotero and reinstalling it from the download page?

    Sorry, Windows. I haven't tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I'll do that now.

    Reinstalling has fixed the laptop problem. Thanks. I do feel a bit embarrassed.

    So long as the laptop works, I don't need to use the web library.
