Bibliography: Chronological order when first author is the same

I'm dealing with a bibliography with several articles with multiple authors, but with the same first author and different other authors. I'm trying to arrange all of these chronologically, but can't seem to get "out" of the alphabetical order of all the authors. Changing name-as-sort-order to "first" did not help, so clearly something else is required. I would appreciate any advice.
