Customizing Attachment Titles
Is there a way to customize attachment titles?
I understand the differences between file name and title as described here
https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/attachment_title_vs_filename
and the recent changes in Zotero 8.
But I couldn't figure out a way to rename titles (say, instead of "Science Direct PDF" I want it to simply say "PDF"; or use the citeKey instead as PDF title, which might come in handy in some scenarios). Is that possible?

aborelYes. Select the attachment, and change the Title field in the Attachment Info section of the right-hand pane. It doesn't really look like it is editable, but it is.

jandavidI should have been more explicit, I meant to rename titles automatically, similarly to how I can rename file names …

aghouryThank you aborel. You point an important function. There is also an icon to the right to automatically rename the file as the parent item. Much appreciative to your tip. Regards.

RamonMiThere is no native way to rename titles automatically in Zotero. But you can use modified JS scripts via Actions and Tags for Zotero. See https://github.com/windingwind/zotero-actions-tags/discussions/291#discussioncomment-10035114
