Installation error

I downloaded and installed the windows version 8, and when I extract and load the program it gives me a NotAllowedError opening a file in the Roaming App Data. It asks me to update, then says no updates found and closes the app. I have uninstalled, re-downloaded the exe file, and same error.

Can you provide the full error? A screenshot — either here or in an email to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread — would be best.
