Zotero 8: PDF reader, shortcut for "Move focus to the 'go to page' box" not working

edited January 23, 2026
Version: Zotero 8.0, Linux, (64-bit)

In the PDF reader, the "Move focus to the 'go to page' box" (which should be Ctrl + Alt + G according to https://github.com/zotero/zotero/issues/1986#issuecomment-877064552) does not seem to work.

Is there any other way to jump quickly between pages? (Alt + up/down arrow moves by page)

I have opened a PR that resolves this issue.
  • Fixed in the latest Zotero beta.

    Thanks.

However, after entering the page number and hitting "Return", we are left in the "go to page" box, instead of having focus moved to the page itself. So moving around the PDF requires additional steps for changing focus to the PDF page itself.

The current behavior in Zotero beta is similar to the one of Firefox. But it is different from Okular or Evince or Edge where, on entering a valid page number, focus moves to the page itself ---and away from the page number box---, and one can then use PgUp/Down, arrows, etc, to move in the PDF page.

    Details: 9.0-beta.7+c0c9437da (64-bit), Linux.
