Niche Feature Questions/Requests

TAGGING
- When clicking an item, it keeps showing all of the tags of the current collection instead of only those of the item. Is this intended behaviour?
- Is it possible to merge similar tags that were auto-imported?

MAIN PANE
- Is it possible to set different background colours for main and child items, instead of alternating white and grey?
- Is it possible to rearrange the order of child items by dragging? Or to sort by item type?


SIDE PANEL
- Is it possible to hide or rearrange sections of the sidebar?
- The arrow button in the top right is not clickable for me. What is it supposed to do?

I am using the latest version of the MacOS client.

TAGGING
- if you are referring to the tag pane in the lower left, that is as intended. Item tags are shown in the right pane. The options for the tag pane are to show all library tags (in which case the current collection's tags are boldened) or only the tags for the current collection.
- tags can be merged by renaming the one you don't want to the same name as the one you do want. But that will not apply to any new imported automatic tags.

MAIN PANE

SIDE PANEL
- if by sections you mean Info, Abstract, Notes, etc., you can drag sections to have a different order in v8. See "You can reorder item pane sections by dragging their icons in the side navigation bar" in blog https://www.zotero.org/blog/zotero-8/
- it is a drop-down of all open tabs (eg PDFs open in reader). If you don't have any such tabs it does not do anything.
