Upgrade StorageJournal Abbreviations
I know this has been discussed extensively. I was wondering if it would be at all possible for Zotero to simply pull from the Index Medicus and populate the abbreviation field?
Here is a link to more information on journal abbreviations. The LocatorPlus is easy to use manually, one just performs a query for a journal title and one of the first things in the journal profile is its abbreviation.

From use input, you may be able to associate the use of abbreviations with various styles automatically but also give the user the option of adding the automatic use of the journal abbreviations if they so choose.
