Feature suggestion: Marking text in the Zotero iOS App

Hi, I use the Zotero-App on my iPad and it's great! I have a suggestion for a small tweak:

I usually have the highlighting function turned on so I can highlight words with my Apple Pencil. Sometimes I want to select a sentence and copy it to paste it elsewhere. To do that, I have to turn off the highlighting function and select the sentence.

In other apps, such as PDF Viewer, this is a bit more practical. There, you have two options:

1) you use your finger (instead of the Apple Pencil) to select a sentence. (In Zotero, you can only turn pages with your finger, not select text)

2) you highlight a sentence and then just tap on the highlighted passage - then a menu appears that includes the option "copy". (In Zotero, when you tap on a selected passage, you get the window to add comments and tags, then you can tap the three dots in the corner to "edit annotation", and then you can select the highlighted text to copy it - super complicated).

Maybe a small change to make the workflow even better!

Cheers!
  • Maybe I got it wrong, but you can select text with your finger, at least I can do with my iPad.
I've to select the text highlight button with the finger (and maybe have no pencil connected).
