How do I set the time zone for Zotero's “accessDate” title field?

Thank you to the development team for your passion and hard work! We appreciate your creation of the outstanding Zotero and its continuous improvements for better usability!!!

As a newbie, I have two small questions to seek help from the experienced experts. I hope the forum's experts can assist in resolving my confusion and uncertainty!!

1. The “accessDate” field in title filling seems to use UTC+0 (London) time. How can I correct this to my local time?

2. My work requires comparing the same webpage, so I need to create multiple entries for the same webpage or snapshots of the same webpage at different times.

I initially tried using Zotero to archive webpage snapshots, but I discovered that only one entry seems possible for the same webpage. Even modifying the entry title doesn't allow creating a second entry via the Zotero Connector. Is there a solution for this?

From forum discussions, I understand Zotero Connector is built on Singlefile. Singlefile itself allows adding custom fields to snapshot titles, such as save times. If Zotero's entry limitation is mandatory, could we enable multiple snapshots per entry? Manually adding attachments is cumbersome.

Finally, I extend my deepest gratitude to the development team and all the helpful community members. Wishing you all the best, joy, and happiness every day!
  • 1. The Accessed field — both for parent items and snapshots — is displayed in your computer's time zone. Can you provide exact steps to reproduce whatever problem you're seeing?

    2. It's not currently possible to save a snapshot to an existing item, but we intend to add a way to do that. (It used to be possible many years ago when Zotero itself was a Firefox extension.) For now, you can always save the page again and drag the second snapshot to the first item.

Dear @dstillman , thank you very much for your prompt reply!

I've attached screenshots below. As you can see, the access times displayed in the information panel and list for the renamed snapshot in the attachment differ from those on the snapshot title. The times in the information panel and list are Beijing Time (UTC+8), while the access time on the snapshot title appears to be London time (UTC).

Following your reminder, I tested the latest Zotero 8.0 version and confirmed that duplicate entries can be added. However, refreshing the webpage is required each time an entry is added; otherwise, the addition fails.

Additionally, I noticed peculiarities in the automatic renaming of attachments. Some webpage snapshots are automatically renamed according to the title template, while others are not. Moreover, the default filename for web snapshots appears to be extracted from the final segment of the webpage URL—the field after the last slash—rather than from the tab/webpage title.

Additionally, I wish to modify the template to integrate with the “zotero-attanger” extension for automatic renaming. How can I use regular expressions to replace invalid characters “\ / : * ? ” < > |“ with hyphens ”-"?
