Changing WebDav storage site

I would like to take some advice on how to change the place where my attachments are held. I have a very large library of some 22,000 citations and i guess about 8,000 attachments. Currently, my Zotero programme only downloads attachments "as needed" and many attachments appear as greyed-out until I open them. When I change the WebDav server address, reset the sync history, and synchronise the programme only uploads new material. I understand this since the attachments are sitting in a different place. When I change the settings back to the former server and ask it to download the attachments at sync time the attachments still remain offline.

If i copy all the heavy prop and zip files to the new server will the programme be able to read them? Is that the best option?
  • I did manage to use the command "Convert linked files to stored files" under Tools->Manage Attachments and it brought all the attachments home. I reset the synchronisation records and it now seems to be uploading all the files to the new site.

It would be nice to know if I could have just copied the Zip and Prop files over.
  • Zotero will automatically reupload stored files to a new WebDAV server, but if Convert Linked Files to Stored Files did anything, you had linked files, which wouldn't have been on WebDAV to begin with.
