Does anyone know why this happens? Zotero is almost 80GB on my Mac!

As the title says: Zotero is almost 80gb. I only keep links to active projects and don't use it as storage for stuff to read later so why is this happening? Yes, I can see that I have too many applications open but how does that grow Zotero to this humongous size? What's going on?

All cases in which Zotero uses >10GB or memory I've seen have been due to a plugin, so try with all plugins disabled.
