my layout changed to "stacked view"

I hit or clicked something and my layout changed to "stacked view." This was unintentional and I very much do not want it. Furthermore, for some reason when I go to the View menu, the layout options are visible ("stacked" is checked) but grayed out. Suggestions would be welcome.

Make the window wider. You made the window too narrow, so it switched into Stacked View automatically.

My window is full screen and I cannot change the item payne to the standard view (right side of screen) . I've made nothing more narrow. I didn't have this problem before I updated to 8

This shows the Layout as stacked view (which is now the default) but no way to check to Standard View (my preference)

Right, but we need to see a screenshot of your screen, showing the full window. You can post it here or email it to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread.

Right, so your window is too narrow to display the three panes side by side. You would need to widen the window to use Standard mode. If this is actually full screen, your display is too small to use Standard mode, or you have your resolution set very low.

Looks like I've answered my own question. I have enabled a number of accessibility options in Win10 because of my low vision challenges. One of those changes was to increase the font size to 150%. Since Zotero doesn't conform to several of Window's increased sizing options (including using Ctrl+) I had to set my font size back to 125% in Windows before I was able to change the view to Standard view.
