Feature Request: Separate Control for Dark Mode in the PDF Reader
I would like to request an option that allows the Zotero interface to remain in dark mode while keeping the PDF viewer in light mode, so that PDFs are displayed with their original white background. The current dark mode is very useful for the library interface, notes and general navigation, especially when working for long periods or in low-light environments. However, when the PDF viewer follows the same dark mode settings, the visual appearance of the document can become uncomfortable or inaccurate, particularly for reading scientific papers, figures with delicate contrast, or documents whose layout depends on a light background.
A separate toggle that controls only the rendering mode of the PDF viewer would allow users to benefit from a comfortable dark interface without altering the appearance of documents. This would improve readability and reduce visual artifacts, while keeping the advantages of the dark UI for the rest of Zotero.
