Add/Edit Citation - single/multiple citation user interface suggestion

My request concerns the default "single citation" approach of the Add/Edit Citation process. I would either like to see if it is possible to select the "Multiple Sources" by default, and ultimately would like to see the single-citation screen be deprecated in favour of a unified process which would handle single or multiple citations in the manner in which the "Multiple Sources" option does now.
The existing multiple sources option works fine for a single citation, and therefore, a single interface would seem more economical then having two closely related interfaces.
My request therefore is to abandon the single-citation approach, and focus tool development on a unified citation picker which could be used for either single or multiple citations.
What do others think?
