About Zotero synchronization!

Hello everyone!

I've been using Zotero as my default reference management software for many years, but I've never used its synchronization feature. I have a large library with over 8,000 references. I read the support information, and it said that synchronization is set up in both directions.

My question is: If my remote Zotero library is empty, will I lose the thousands of references on my computer, or will Zotero save them to it's remote server and keep them synchronized later?

Thank you for your attention!

Bi-directional sync means that the newer, or the only existing, record (wherever it is) is retrieved to the other location. Since your online library is empty (as it happens with most new users of the sync feature), all of your local records will have precedence and be uploaded to the server.

Later, if you modify an online record, or add a new reference only there, syncing will update your local library accordingly.
