Zotero 7.0.29 crashes on macOS 26.1 (EXC_BAD_ACCESS)
Hi,
after updating my Mac to macOS 26.1, Zotero crashes immediately after launch.
Before this update everything worked perfectly.
Crash details:
• Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
• Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 11
• Thread: Shutdown Hang Terminator in XUL / libnss3.dylib
• No Zotero error message, only macOS crash report.
Setup:
• Zotero 7.0.29
• macOS 26.1 (25B78) on Apple Silicon
• Database stored locally (no OneDrive/iCloud/WebDAV path)
Zotero on my iPad (same account, same sync) still works fine, so it doesn’t seem to be a sync or database corruption issue.
It looks like a compatibility problem introduced with macOS 26.1.
Please let me know if this is a known issue or if you’d like the full crash report.
Thanks!

Can you paste the first 100 or so lines of the crash report? If there's any output when starting Zotero from the command line with the
-ZoteroDebugTextflag, that might also be helpful. (You can email that to support@zotero.org with a link to this thread if it's long.)Does it happen if you hold down Shift while starting the app to start in Troubleshooting Mode?
