MS Word and Links back to zotero

I have a set of text files in zot which I'd like to drag and drop into a MS Word doc. I suppose that it is expected/normal behavior NOT to include a link back to the file in zotero, as is the case, if you drag and drop an PDF into Word from a zot collection.
Is there a workaround for txt files to include a link back to zot?

    I'm not sure what you mean here.

    What do you mean by "as is the case, if you drag and drop an PDF into Word from a zot collection"? Dragging a PDF attachment from the items list to Word doesn't create a link back to Zotero. Dragging some text from the PDF reader can, depending on your Quick Copy settings, but not the attachment item itself.

    And what do you mean by "I have a set of text files in zot"? As attachments?

    Can you provide some screenshots of what you're referring to?

    Sorry for the confusion. I will have to convert all the txt files in collections to PDF. So if the annotation is dragged and dropped into zot there is a link back to zot from the annotation (now in word).
