no words only numbers

Hi I only get a number inserted into my text in word when I use zotero to insert citation into my document ie (1) and no name. the same happens when i go to add my bibliography. please advise.

    You've selected a numeric citation style in the plugin's Document Preferences window. If you'd like a name, choose an author-date style like APA.
