Create a collection from all the refs in a paper

I'm wondering if it is possible to in some way have zotero automatically create a collection containing all of the references in a paper. In this case, I mean a paper that I myself am writing using zotero: could I, after writing the paper and creating a bibliography in it, in some way have Zotero read all the references in that bibliography and create a new collection out of them?
  • As far as I know, this isn't possible currently. A while back, I made a suggestion on zotero-dev that is related. The idea is that translators should be able to catch duplicates, and prompt the user to either skip the item, or add a pointer to the current collection. If embedded metadata is implemented (I think it's in the roadmap?), the same mechanism could be repurposed to do this. (There was no response to my suggestion, though, and I don't know whether it has any traction.)
  • OK, just changed this from a general question to a suggestion:

It would be great to be able to make a collection using a bibliography made with Zotero!
