Add/Edit Citation button not working in Google Docs (other Zotero buttons work fine)

Hi, I’m having an issue with the Zotero integration in Google Docs. The Add/Edit Citation button is not working, nothing happens when I click it. The other buttons (Refresh, Add/Edit Bibliography, Document Preferences) all work normally.

This setup used to work fine for me some time ago, and I’ve recently come back to using Zotero. I’ve already gone through all the steps in the Debugging Broken Documents guide: https://www.zotero.org/support/kb/debugging_broken_documents, but the issue persists.

Here are my details:

- Platform: Windows 11
- Browser: Version 141.0.7390.67 (Official Build) (64-bit)
- Zotero version: 7.0.24 (64-bit)
- Zotero Connector version: Version 5.0.184
- Word processor: Google Docs

Issue: Add/Edit Citation button unresponsive (no red search bar or error popup)

Things I’ve tried / other details:

1. Works fine in a new empty document.
2. Created a copy of the problematic document and deleted all text — issue persists.
3. Deactivated all other browser extensions — no change.

    I have the same problem, on another file it works, but the one I want to Add/Edit is not working. I also repeatedly uninstalled and downloaded again a couple of times, but the problem persists.

    So I think that the file is the problem, but I don't want to make a new one since there's a lot of content from our research that needed to be passed today, and I don't have any time to do so.
