Feature request: on/off toggle for author disambiguation in document preferences

If I am referencing two authors with the same last name––e.g., John Smith and Arnold Smith––then the in-text citations will appear as (J. Smith, publication year) and (A. Smith, publication year). In APA and other styles, I understand this is proper. However, several referees and journal editors have requested the removal of first initials in my submitted works. I was wondering if it would be possible to add an "author disambiguation" toggle to the document preferences settings in Word. Obviously this toggle would be "on" by default (because stylistically, author disambiguation is correct). However, for the cases where disambiguation isn't wanted, the option to turn it off would save the trouble of manually going through and removing all first initials from the disambiguated in-text citations.
