Error - No RIS files being added to library via Chrome Extension on Windows 11

462782873 - Error report ID

Hi Guys, thanks for the great app, I love it.

Error - No RIS files being added via Chrome Extension on Windows 11

Steps to reproduce.
1. Use Chrome, have extension installed
2. Go to website that has a RIS file to download, eg https://psycnet.apa.org/record/2011-12020-004
3. Click on Export
4. A window pops up
5. Click on Go
6. A new tab opens: chrome-extension://ekhagklcjbdpajgpjgmbionohlpdbjgc/confirm/confirm.html#importContent=https://psycnet.apa.org/ris/download
7. The Zotero download library window pops up on top right
8. NOTHING happens from that. The RIS file is neither downloaded nor added to the library.
9. Even clicking on the down button and Done does not save or add to library.
10. I have tried this in an incognito window in Chrome also.

NB This has been working in past weeks. I have noticed it started not working in the last week, over a few days, consistently not working.

A report has been submitted to the Chrome Extension error reporting as per the ID above.

Kind Regards,
Anthony

  • We can look into that, but to save from that page, you would just click the Zotero Connector's save button, as on any other supported site.

Thank you for the response. I didn't realise I could click on the extension button to save the file. The same issue occurs when clicking on the Zotero Connector's save button. Ie, the Zotero save popup appears but never actually saves. This error appears "An error occurred saving with APA PsycNet. Attempting to save using Embedded Metadata instead."

I notice this in the Report Errors - Advanced section of the extension Options:

    [additional errors removed — D.S.]

[JavaScript Error: "Error: HTTP request to https://psycnet.apa.org/ris/download has timed out after 15000ms
  • RIS downloads from PsycNET appear to just be broken. You can see that your download is timing out, and I'm seeing the same with a manual download attempt (clicking Cancel from the Zotero Connector RIS import popup, or trying in a browser without the Zotero Connector).
