Upgrade StorageAttachment linking fails for group library

I have my main library set up to store pdfs in a linked private cloud storage location using the custom base directory option and the Zotero Attanger plugin. This works with zero problems (pdfs open in the internal Zotero viewer, edits are captured and saved etc).
When using a group library these settings do no appear to be recognised correctly by Zotero however. Zotero Attanger correctly renames and moves the pdfs to the linked storage directory but when I try to open these pdfs from the Zotero reference I get the warning "attached file could not be found at the following path" with the path pointing to the default Zotero storage location (/home/user/Zotero/storage/folder/file.pdf).
Is there any known reason why my storage set up would work for the main library and not for a group library?

dstillmanYou can't use linked files in group libraries. If a plugin tries to create those, that's a bug.
