Upgrade Storageerror message, 883770920, ubuntu 22.04, zotero does not appear anywhere in launcher
Hi, installed zotero 7.0.24 from tar bz after painfully removing an old synaptic install which could not be updated to 7.
7 nicely used the existing home/zotero cache, good, it avoided me to reload dozen's of GB!
I followed the instructions but they don't work for getting the zotero icon on the launcher. Eexecuting the zotero.desktop file does not work, although the correct path to the icon is in the zotero.desktop file.
I can now launch the zotero app by executing the zotero bash script in the extracted dir but that's all, and not very practical.
In the 9-dot menu, there is no icon that appears when you type zotero. you can see the symlink, but there is a message about "too many levels of symbolic links" when clicking on it.

~/.local/share/applications/. Delete whatever you've added there — which it sounds like is wrong — and follow the instructions precisely:https://www.zotero.org/support/installation#linux
Or, as it says there, if you're having trouble, just use the zotero-deb build.
